Income generation

Yemen faces rising and fluctuating food prices — especially protein food sources — which heavily impact the poor and vulnerable. In fact, Yemen imports more than three-quarters of its food needs, and the war has further exacerbated food prices.

The Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundation has multiple projects that aim to enable poor and vulnerable families in Yemen to generate income in a sustainable way in order to improve their food security, self-reliance, and dignity in a time of severe deprivation. We started our first project in 2019 by providing sheep to 20 families. We currently have multiple projects in which we provide families hens or sheep in order to provide protein and nourishment to families in need, as well as an opportunity for income.
